Immediately after Engagement

  1. Decide on the style/theme, size and budget of the wedding and choose who will pay for what.

  2. If you choose to utilize the help of one, hire a wedding consultant.

  3. Interview, get estimates and select a photographer.

  4. Meet with Marriage Officiant and schedule pre-marital counseling.

  5. Reserve the site for your wedding and/or reception.

  6. Select and register at bridal registries.

  7. Begin collecting information about caterers.

 

 

Six Months or More Before

  1. Develop your tentative guest list.

  2. Reserve the honeymoon suite for the wedding night.

  3. Shop for and select an engagement ring .

  4. Submit news of your engagement to the local newspaper.

  5. Shop for and order a wedding gown .

  6. Select and invite member of both the bride and groom's wedding party

  7. Hire a DJ, band, or any other form of entertainment for the wedding.

  8. Select a baker and order your wedding cake.

  9. Interview, get estimates and select a video-grapher .

  10. Reserve hotel rooms for your non-local guests.

 

 

Four Months Before

  1. Finalize your guest list.

  2. Verify all plans for the menu with the caterer.

  3. Select and order your invitations.

  4. Select and order "thank you" cards to send after you receive gifts.

  5. Order personalized paper goods, such as matches, napkins, place-cards etc. for the wedding/reception.

  6. Verify all arrangements with the photographer.

  7. Collect quotes from florists and select your arrangements.

  8. Collect quotes and order decorations, balloons and wedding favors.

  9. Arrange for limousine, bus or carriage for transport to and from the wedding/reception.

  10. Decide where you will go and book your flight, hotel, and other necessities for the honeymoon.

  11. Arrange for the rehearsal dinner before the wedding.

  12. Plan for the brunch on the morning following the wedding.

 

 

Three Months Before

  1. Shop for and order wedding rings.

  2. Reserve formalwear (tuxedos) for the grooms wedding party with proper sizes.
  3. Finalize the honeymoon plans and plan for out of country excursions (visa/passport/doctor visits).

 

 
Two Months Before
  1. Send the Invitations.
  2. Buy necessary gifts for members of the wedding.
  3. Make appointments for bride and her wedding party at the beauty salon.
  4. Ensure all non-local guests have finalized their plans for attending the wedding (hotel, salon, etc.).

 

 

One Month Before

  1. Select the needed trimmings for the wedding gown (shoes, jewellery, undergarments, etc.)
  2. Get the last wedding gown and bridesmaids' fitting.
  3. Get brides portraits taken.
  4. If bride is changing her name, complete and file required name change forms.
  5. Submit a change of address form via the post office or the Internet.
  6. Visit the stylist to sample the bride's hair and makeup .
  7. Plan a luncheon for the bride's wedding party.
  8. Plan for and purchase gifts for bridesmaids to give out at the luncheon.

 

 
Two Weeks Before
  1. Find out what documents are required for it and get a marriage license.
  2. Verify that all transportation is arranged.
  3. Verify that all arrangements for catering, photographer, video-grapher, entertainment and decorations are accurately made.
  4. Call or send invitations to invite guests to the rehearsal dinner and brunch.

 

 

One Week Before

  1. Inform the caterer of the exact number of guest that will be attending the wedding/reception.

  2. Reconfirm that all arrangements for the honeymoon are accounted for.

 

 
One Day Before
  1. Give rings and wedding officiant fee to the best man.
  2. Attend the bride's wedding party luncheon and give the bridesmaid's their presents.

 

 
After
  1. Take back the rented formalwear to the rental store.
  2. Bring the wedding gown for preservation.
  3. Bring the wedding gown to consignment shop if the brides chooses to sell it.
